Mythological thrillers are a new trend nowadays, after Mujya, Stree and Shaitan, Bollywood is now focusing on making horror stories with mythological twists. Few months back TVF Pictures announced VVAN, Starring Sidharth Malhotra, which was also a mythological film, and now Kajol is going to star in another similar film titled ‘MAA’. The first look and release date of the film was announced today by the makers and here are details about the same.
The film is titled ‘MAA’ and the film stars Kajol in the main lead role. By looking at the announcement poster and the Video, it is very much evident that Kajol is going to play a character of ‘Mother’ who is going to save her child from evil. The film is all set for the release from 27th June 2024.
The film is produced by Devgan Films and Jio Studios, the same team behind the biggie Shaitaan, which released last year and collected massive 200 crores at the box office. At the recent IIFA awards, the film bagged a few awards too. Now Kajol is following the same footprints and she is going to play the character of Mother who is going to save her child from evil. In Shaitaan, Ajay Devgan played the character of a ‘Father’ who saves his daughter from evil.
The film is directed by Vishal Furia, who is also working on the biggie ‘Nagin’ starring Sharadha Kapoor. Vishal had earlier directed the films like Chorrii Starring Nushrat Bahrucha and currently he is also working on Part of the film. The last release of Vishal received mixed response and we hope that this film gives him the recognition that he deserves.
The shooting of the film was completed back in 2024, and now finally, the film is ready for release after months of editing and post-production work. Kajol has also shared the official motion poster of the film and we will get to see more of the film’s promotional materials in the coming days.
